Terms of Use

By creating an account or using the Krets app, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Krets is a place discovery app that lets you save, recommend and share restaurants, cafés and bars with a trusted circle of people. The service is provided as-is and may change over time. We reserve the right to modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the service with or without notice.

Eligibility You must be at least 13 years old to use Krets. By creating an account you confirm that you meet this requirement.

Account security You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at krets.places@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

Accurate information You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to keep it reasonably up to date.

Your content You retain ownership of the recommendations and notes, photos, lists and profile details (such as your name, username, bio and profile photo) you create in Krets. By posting content — including any photo you attach to a recommendation — you grant Krets a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display and distribute it to other users who can see that content. You may only post content you have the right to share: by uploading a photo you confirm that you took it or otherwise have the right to share it, and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights. All recommendations and photos must follow the community rules below, and we may remove content that breaks them.

Genuine recommendations Krets is built on honest recommendations from people you trust. You should only recommend places based on your own genuine experience, and keep what you post truthful and not misleading.

Your responsibility You are solely responsible for the content you post. You agree not to post content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, abusive, threatening, violent, sexually explicit, defamatory, deceptive or spam, or that infringes the rights of others.

Social features & visibility You choose whether your profile is open (visible to people in Krets) or locked. Following a locked profile sends a request the owner can approve or decline, and you control who is in your circle. You can also block or report other users — see below.

Reporting You can report content or accounts that you believe break these rules using the report option in the app. You can also block other users so their content no longer appears to you.

Removal and enforcement We may remove content that violates these rules or that we consider harmful to the service or its users. Repeated or serious violations may lead to restrictions on your account, up to and including removal of the account. We do not actively monitor all content and rely in part on user reports.

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service or its infrastructure.
• Scrape, crawl or otherwise systematically extract data from the service.
• Impersonate any person or entity.
• Interfere with or disrupt the service or servers.
• Use the service to send spam or unsolicited messages.

Krets displays place information and photos sourced from Google Places. This data is subject to Google's terms and may not always be accurate or up to date. We are not responsible for the accuracy of third-party data shown in the app.

AI features Some features use AI services. Smart search is AI-assisted, and place descriptions may be machine-translated into your language — both can be imperfect or inaccurate, so please use your own judgment. Recommendations in Krets are written by people, not generated by AI.

Your right to delete You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app: Profile → Settings (⚙) → Account → Delete account.

Our right to terminate We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, without prior notice.

No warranties Krets is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components.

Limitation of liability To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Krets and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

These terms are governed by Norwegian law. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Norwegian courts.

We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the updated version at this URL with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of Krets after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
